Chinchilla

On my travels to outback Queensland I take every opportunity to stop by Charley’s Creek Campground. I continued the murals at the camp kitchen area with more local flora and fauna. The feedback from all the fresh art has been incredible and I think Charley’s Creek takes the cake for the most murals in one vicinity.

The Brewery is almost underway and keen to maintain some momentum whist under construction Charleys Creek Brewery has released an American Pale Ale. The One In A Melon sour beer was a real hit winning a Gold Medal and I was chuffed the artwork (of a cow smashing a watermelon) turned out great.

For the second beer the Pale Ale label design was also an interesting brief. The concept revolved around a star bull called Golden Nuts and it all came together well, I am very satisfied with the artwork and so stoked to see my client wrapped.

I also painted a tree for The Blue Tree Project which is a great cause and looks great amongst the natural bush surrounds.

Chinchilla

Over the past few years I’ve had the opportunity to create a several murals at Charley’s Creek Campground (previously Clover Hill Lodge). Each time I visited I noticed the new owners had made improvements and upgrades.

The latest venture is Charley’s Creek Brewery which will produce a number of craft beer varieties onsite. I was recently set a challenge to design packaging for the debut beer “One in a Melon” which was being rushed through production in time for Chinchilla’s famous Melon Festival.

I was given an interesting brief “can you draw a cow smashing a watermelon” and a super tight deadline, the next thing I knew the limited edition sour beer was being canned and labeled. A big thanks to The Print People and Helios Brewing for assistance.

Thud & Dust

I am super stoked to have the opportunity to work with Pluto. His music has inspired me for a long time and I am always eager to hear yet another quality release. It was a pleasure to complete artwork for the Thud & Dust Drum Breaks release check it out via  Plutonic Lab

Mt Cotton State School

Fifteen years ago, I completed one of my first ever paid school murals at Mt Cotton State School, and during that time, I have been privileged to work on an array of artworks for the school. This latest projects saw my sign writing skills put to the test on a new sign and some landscape imagery for The Rainforest Room.

Sketch Swap

I'm always up for a challenge so I hit up Adelaide based aerosol artist SG1 for a sketch swap. SG1 has a unique approach to three dimensional style graffiti and its always interesting to see  your own letters from a different perspective. It took me a couple of drafts before I developed a design I was satisfied with. Maintaining form and flow without cluttering the letters was an issue for me but I enjoyed the process and props to SG1 for rocking a super Sauce sketch. More to come so stay tuned folks.

XIX LXIX

Sauce on the cans.

XIX LXIX by Sauce illuminates the possibilities of the space-time continuum, which as humans, we experience without consciousness. Earth is paradoxical by being both monumental and insignificant. Humanity is constantly seeking physical answers to metaphysical questions which creates barriers and restraints on our own freedom.

Sauce was thrilled to (finally) finish this mural in Brisbane this week. He created the mural over two days in the hot Brisbane sun, at a school in Mt. Gravatt. The principal graciously allowed Sauce to create this design at the school, as it was a challenge to find somewhere which suited the layout of this mural. If you’re thinking this image is familiar, then you’re right. This picture features as one of our postcard designs

which can be traced back to Tasmania. 

Moorooka Jam

For a professional artist, finding the time to go for a paint can be a real challenge. Especially when there are many clients waiting for their works to be completed, but Sauce managed to squeeze a sneaky join up with Kosie1 last week. Sauce and Kosie1 have a ritual of painting on or around their collective birthdays in January, and they always plan to get together during the year and paint more, but with both lads juggling numerous jobs, it’s tricky to get them both to have time off! 

For this wall, Kosie1 had some overseas guests who were studying photography, so they sharpened their camera skills while Sauce and Kosie1 painted.

Sauce is currently working on the chrome effect with his pieces, and Kosie1 is sharpening his can control and colour combos.

Mooshka

Mooshka was the first stop on the tour and the funky restaurant on the Sunshine Beach didn’t disappoint. Sauce had painted a mural at the restaurant five years ago, and he also created a logo for the business, which they are still using for their merchandise and branding. 

It was rainy and cold for the two days Sauce stayed on the Sunshine Coast, but this didn’t hamper his efforts since the area was under-cover. Sauce was well looked after with the restaurant serving tasty pizza and Stone and Wood on tap. He even scored a snapback!
